we had the pleasure of meeting another family like ours – white parents, black children – and get reacquainted with one we had already met. the kids had a good chance to get to know each other at the folk festival. there was lots of singing and dancing and running around. the other little girl, zelda’s age, had a tutu on and zelda admired her hair and has already requested the same style – a princess crown made out of braids in her hair. oh, and this sweet baby. almost enough to make us baby crazy and think about life with another small one. almost, but not quite.a great chance encounter that builds our tribe. a definite win for community and our kids!
