Headed to Eagle
Zach and I are taking off tonight for Eagle, Alaska. They were flooded pretty badly this spring when a huge ice jam caused the river to overflow. There's a big push to get some houses built before the snow comes and from what we hear, a lot of work still left to do. We've got the car loaded with donations, camping gear and tools. It's a 12 1/2 hour trek northwest. We hope to get to Tok tonight, camp and then make our way to Eagle by tomorrow afternoon or evening. We then plan to work Saturday and Sunday, leaving Sunday sometime to get back to Tok, camp and finish our trip home on Monday. It should be a fun, if not busy trip. No matter what, we get to take the Top of the World Highway, so it will be pretty cool. More pictures and updates when we return...
