solstice in seward

in an effort to do something a little different for the solstice, we hopped in the car on friday morning and went to seward.  the drive was nice.  we stopped in girdwood at the bake shop for some monster cinnamon rolls.  after that zelda slept the remaining hour and half to seward, waking just as we arrived.  we mainly walked around and enjoyed the sunny, albeit windy day.  the playground there is very nice and zelda enjoyed that immensely.  she also got a little bracelet from the sea life center gift shop.  we checked out the new brewery for lunch and were disappointed that neither the food or beer were great.  oh well, coffees from resurrection coffee house before we left town were good.  zelda zonked out again for the return trip waking just as we pulled into a plant nursery along turnagain arm.  good thing she woke up since there were two little boys to play with and a small pond to explore.  we picked up a red currant bush for the back yard.  all in all, a nice low key day hanging out together.
