People all across the great land look forward to this day not only for the potential for a Mayan Apocalypse every 5200 years, but also to celebrate and for the slow but steady promise of longer days and more sunlight ahead (even if we only start gaining ever so slowly tomorrow, and are only up six minutes by this time next week.)
