no, this isn’t just a reference to the growing size of zelda “the belly” zaletel’s midsection. cute as the wee round one may be, this blog used to be about things going on with the whole family, which includes at present count, papa, mama,
baby toddler, three dogs and three chickens, each with their own stories and interests or at least pictures from time to time. while i know a lot of you visit to keep up on the little cutie and her antics, which there will still be plenty of, since this is our family journal, i’m hoping that we can expand our posts to include a little more variety. perhaps a sewing or cooking project or two, some of papa’s photography, a quick doggie update or what’s growing in the garden, i’m not really sure yet, but generally more big Z family and life oriented instead of solely baby little z oriented.
keeping with the newly expanded format, i wanted to share this article from the huffington post about how important it is to make sure mamas are captured in photos with their kids. i know that we are trying to make sure we capture as many of zelda’s moments as possible that most of our photos this past 13 months have been of her. but this is just so true: “I want them to have pictures of me. I want them to see the way I looked at them, see how much I loved them. I am not perfect to look at and I am not perfect to love, but I am perfectly their mother.” i have to admit that i am horrible about hopping into a photo or worse yet of turning the camera on myself, plus most of our daily pictures are taken with me behind the camera on my iphone which is usually what’s on hand. so we took the time to take a picture today with a papa’s camera and we’ve added our photo below to the slide show. nothing glamorous, just us plopped on the bed with the camera on a timer sitting on the dresser.
