Fall is in the air, so that means its time to go berry picking. Yesterday we took a family hike to Ptarmigan Valley, a place we discovered last year. You can definitely see signs of fall, especially as you gain elevation.
After the hellish four mile hike, we relaxed in the sun and ate lunch before getting down to business and picking blue berries.
Zach bought a berry rake this year, which definitely speeds up the process. We were highly impressed with Darby’s stamina on the hike. She would lay down from time to time when we stopped, but otherwise kept up and didn’t require much cajoling to keep going. Today everyone is a little sore so other than some small things around the house, we’ll be relaxing and possibly harvesting a little honey.
